Based in Hertfordshire, Bronte has competed across Europe with outstanding results at both Small Tour and Under 25s Grand Prix. Quickly climbing the ranks, Bronte has set her sights on further international competition in 2020.

Bronte grew up in the Hertfordshire town of Harpenden and began riding when she was just 6, soon convincing her non-horsey parents to buy her a pony. Twix, a cheeky 13.2hh Welsh mare, was Bronte’s first pony and certainly taught her how to stay on! When Bronte outgrew Twix, she sold her to a friend at Pony Club and Bronte bought Steve, a Thoroughbred ex-racehorse.

At the age of 13, Bronte enrolled at Stonar School in Dorset and took her horse Steve with her.  However, Steve was soon expelled for naughty behaviour! Undeterred Bronte found a local livery yard to take Steve and continued to train her RoR daily after school, convincing friends at the yard to collect and return whenever possible.

After Stonar, Bronte moved home to Harpenden and kept her horses with event rider, Kylie Roddy. Kylie successfully competed Caddy, one of Bronte’s horses up to 2* level but when Kylie moved away, Bronte seized the opportunity to focus on pure dressage. Caddy and Bronte soon qualified to ride for England at the Home International in 2013, going on to win as an individual. This was the catalyst that inspired Bronte to fully invest in her dressage career.

Understanding that she needed an experienced dressage horse and a trainer to realise her dressage ambitions, Bronte bought Fritz and based herself at Anna Ross’s yard. With Anna’s help, Fritz and Bronte quickly rose from Novice to Advanced Medium level in a few short months winning the Pet Plan Advanced Medium final.

March 2016 saw Bronte and Fritz complete their first Prix St George test. This was soon followed  by Bronte’s first International competition in Valencia, Spain, where the combination won every class. New horse Charlie also competed in the hotly contested Small Tour classes, consistently finishing second to Matthias Rath and Foundation.

Back on home soil, Bronte moved her horses closer to home to be stabled at Dan Sherriff’s yard at Bayford Hall Farm. Bronte still trained with Anna monthly with additional support from Dan in between, until she moved her horses home to Harpenden.

With the future in mind, Bronte has already lined up some exciting future stars. Currently kept at Newton Stud in Devon, Bronte owns Loxley, a 3-year-old gelding and Remi, a yearling filly. Loxley has been backed and turned away and will come back into work soon to start his career with Bronte.

March 2019, a handsome liver chestnut gelding, Guess, arrived from Holland who Bronte is now training and competing at Prix St George. Then in September, at an Open Day at Newton Stud, Bronte became the owner of the stunning colt called Newton Dreamcatcher who beat 70 other foals to the top spot on the day. With so many exciting prospects coming through, Bronte is aiming to qualify for 2020 Internationals with Charlie and Guess as well as hoping to compete in Wellington, Florida.
